Diary of Llewellyn: June 19, 1923

We got new Mail boy. William Bryson. Beautiful Day. Got as the dickens. Sat around home & sewed. Pa brought ice cream home when he came back from farm. Went to bed about 10 o’clock.

I’ll have to ask Grandpa about it to be sure, but I know he mentioned that his Grandpa (Lewis) used to have chickens that you had to go catch and “kill” if you wanted chicken for dinner.

I would guess he had a deal with a farmer to supply the Market with meat. I don’t think he actually owned a farm though.
